Return of Tuesday D&D/ Gaming Night
« on: October 30, 2008, 03:49:50 PM »
Figured it was time to start over with a brand new thread.

True to  my word, I'm going to start running a 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons campaign.  It looks pretty simple to run, even for me, but I don't know if I really want to drop a bunch of money on new books if it isn't as much fun to run as it is to play.

So, Tuesday: I need 5-6 able bodied volunteers to roll up 1st level characters.  If we have time I'll have a quick, pre-made introductory adventure to get us all settled in and accustomed to the 4th edition mechanics.

Hopefully I will not have chosen the same adventure Tyler did.... :|

If I didn't have mandatory exercise (basketball) that same night I'd be down.  Sorry.

Gah, I neglected to buy a Ritual book(50g) and a Holy Symbol(10g) before our expedition, so I'm gonna be about 90% as effective. I'm sure I can buy these when we get back to town... until then... Kobold Killers ftw!

PS: Zathras, That was definately the coolest shirt there, and I'm quite jealous. I'm not daddy!

I didn't buy the shirt because the colors didn't suit me, but I know someone who did...

I bought a smart and stylish P-Dash hoodie instead.  8-)

Oh, and some big nerd couldn't wait untill after his campaign to purchase the 4th edition books.

What time does the nerding begin?  I've got private lessons every other week on Tuesdays, but I'd really like to join.

It will commence about 5:30pm onwards probably. It depends on when folks can get here. Most folks don't turn up until around 7pm.
Bring food if you like, but we can order pizza for (ourselves and) whoever else wants delicious hot pizza!

It's cool if you come by, but just to warn you the party is pretty full right now (six players) and I don't know if we can really handle a 7th at the moment, sorry.  :|  But if you still want to come by and enjoy Rick's offer of pizza, please feel free!  :-)

This thread warms my little, black, withered heart.

In fact, I may feel it growing three sizes as I read it!

Well, same thing I told Q; If you want to come hang out, you're more than welcome, but we're pretty full right now with a party of 6.  If we were running something more like J.D.'s game, a 4-5 hour long session on the weekend at an actual table, then I'd say the more the merrier, but as it is 6 is more than enough.   :|

At mine and Renee's tonight (unless J&M have already said otherwise?). 5:30pm onwards. Bring dinner, or money for the pizza guy.

BTW: I am now as fit as a fiddle, and no longer a public health risk!  :-P

Huzzah!  I forget, did we get paid yet for all the kobold ears? (or whatever we were collecting)  Also what are we playing tonight?  D&D or something else?

So, last night we played a game of Catan, JD won. I'm now looking up free printable board games so we have some variety, which as you know, is the spice of life (although I prefer paprika).

I understand that in Jacob's game last week we reached Lvl2, and got some magic items. Lvl2 means +1 Heroic Feat (~PHB.198) and +1 Utility Power Lvl2. I have made cards for all of the powers, and we can use them next week if you like, unless some selfish bastard wants to celebrate the day of his birth or something  :-P.

I will post a copy of my DS Dice Roller tonight, so if you have any comments, suggestions etc let me know, cos I want to make it as awesome as possible, and I can't think of anything else to add or change.  :-X

Free board games for download?

These are designed to be solo games but a few guys on Dragonsfoot have been using them along with Classic D&D characters instead of the provided characters.  Could be something fun to play around with.

Maybe we should pool our money and buy a new board game from Yellow Sub.   :-D

Next week, Jacob may have to work all night on Tuesday...

They're releasing a revised version of the 4th edition of Talisman in a couple of weeks that I am thinking of getting.
That game is endlessly fun.

Jacob was talking about going out for dinner for his birthday, but he also wanted to game.  He suggested Sakura, but if we go there after he gets off work and by the time we finish eating, will we have time?

He says that leveling takes no time at all, but ...  I don't think that we can do both.

He hasn't emailed me with his request.

Sakura, the "eat meat until you die" place right? Sounds yummy.
Either way,
we will put the cake securely in the car, and bring some D&D stuff, just in case.  :-o

Scratch Sakura.  Jacob wants Italian now.  The place is closer than Sakura, so just show up at our place.  I'll try to get home asap today, just as long as I don't run into anymore crazy old dudes.

Unknown, Michelle is sick so she's probably out for tomorrow.  Maybe I could just ride the train to Nirasaki, but I'd probably need a lift home.   :|  We'll see how she looks in the morning and then call it from there.

Well, our apartment looks like a hobo has been squatting there, and then a few grenades were let loose, perhaps with the hobo inside.  :|
We could always go eat somewhere and play arcade games etc. ... Then I wouldn't have to do epic level cleaning.
