But apparently not if you want your results sent overseas. Bummer.

Thanks for the tip!  Thats pretty useful.  I wonder what we will have to do in order to pay them, though.  Maybe just mail them the money order.

Let's studying forever and then you guys can console me when I fail.

I decided not to take n4 after all. Mig took it last year and my level definitely isn't as good as his was then - so I'm pretty sure to fail. My motivation to study has gone right out the window too, as I'm leaving and have no intention of coming back anytime soon, or ever being in Japan for a long period again.

I am likely to fail mostly because my kanji is so shit and I'm having trouble understanding the meanings of some of the longer essays because of it.
Also, in my study book, the readings sometimes have explanations of the words.  However, the vast majority of the explanations are for katakana words that mostly derive from English while there might be a 5 kanji character word with no explanation whatsoever.

Just wanted to say that the official deadline this year is May 2nd.  Get your butt in gear and apply already.

If you are attempting N2 with me, we can snigger and then cry together in the hallways.

I'm going for N2 too =_= Let's all cry together guys.

I was showing my kocho-sensei some of the N2 questions today and we ended up having to look up all of the kanji/meanings for しゅうしゅう。 I feel like this is what my life is gonna be like studying for this test for the next few months.

There is so many fucking しゅうしゅう、しゅしゅう、じしゅう、じゅうしゅう etc that my brain hurts when i try to think of which one i need and say one of the others that sounds too close.

So I signed up and chose the pay at conbini option, and all I got in the payment info email was a receipt payment number. Like, if I just give that number to the cashier, are they going to have any idea what to do with it? It can't be that simple, right?

It might depend on which conbini  but I went to lawson and got a receipt payment number. All I had to do is go to the Loppi machine, input the number in the code search bar and it found it immediately.  I had to input my phone number after that and all the right recepient info and fee was correct so I took my receipt to the cashier and paid it that way.
You're probably going to have to use the ticket machine at any of the conbinis

it is tomorrow!  but the lady also said that after the results are sent out, you can request your certificate and they will send it to you.  maybe not overseas (i didnt ask), but at least to someone who can forward it to you.

If you apply on paper it has the deadline AND a process to get your RESULTS mailed to you overseas if you leave Japan *not just a certificate.

I prefer having a hard copy of my results that state my level. It is not an official `certificate`, but it is still my legitimate level and score that I can hold in my possession.

Was wondering if anyone got their test site information in the mail or if it is all just online.  I only received a small piece of mail from the JLPT application center with the test time, date and rules.  Never received anything with my picture on it.  Is this worrysome?

I got a card like that but if you peel it open it has your picture and stuff on it. I'm assuming we got the same kind of thing?

Okay, yes that's the one! I just didn't open it correctly, and now my picture is flaking off the paper... :/ Guess I should print the one online too just to be safe.

I'm not sure if it's still the same, but a year ago I think they had some sort of table set up where you could bring a photo ID and get your test voucher in case you forgot it.
