Halloween game!
« on: October 26, 2012, 03:48:33 PM »
i have halloween day and a 3rd year class to myself and i i was thinking id do some sort of murder  mystery game.  but ive never done anything like that before, and if you want to give me ideas, pleeeeeaaaasssseeee do.

The game starts when they all have a envelope on their desk in the morning, or before class (at a time they dont notice.  It will have in English "Do not open" on it. or somthing along those lines.   but will appread to have simething intriguing inside. so when they open it, they will be dead.  and with the premis of some students dead and some not (the ones who opened it and didnt open it) the activity will begin.

thats all i got.
ideas?

well, somebodys gotta do it.

i think the next stipulation will be that only dead people can talk to dead people, andlive people talk to live people, then maybe have like a witch in the live peoplewhocan talk to the dead people.

Sounds fun, but will they follow the rules?  Also, you should employ the dead people to scare the alive people at every chance; corners, urinals, you know what I mean...

You should bring red and white makeup to plaster all over the dead ones faces, then they will know for sure who is dead or alive...

not a bad idea.  will probably need some editing, since im not actually going to put makeup on them (i dont think)

but im ready for your next valuable idea that involves progressions of the activity.

teach the dead ones how zombies walk, dropping an arm or losing the full use of a leg... they would get into that.

I play a crime mystery game with my kids though I never specify what the crime is lol.

so, each student gets a schedule of what they did the night of the crime.  For me, it's always innocent things that the students know so that i dont have to teach them anything else.

A sample schedule looks something like this:

5:00pm, Took a shower

6:00pm, Read a Book

7:00pm, Wrote a Letter

and so on

The criminal's schedule is usually pretty suspicious but still innocent enough, usually i say this

5:00PM, wrote a letter (ransom, or prepped a murder to look like a suicide)

6:00PM, Went outside (where it took place!)

7:00, Cleaned the house (clean up the body!)

So, the students have to go around asking "What were you doing at 5:00PM/6:00pm?", etc.  the way to answer is "I was cleaning the house at 7:00pm"  They can ONLY ask two questions of the same person.  It makes it more difficult because two students could potentially have mostly the same schedule with only one difference.  The criminal will know immediately that they are the criminal, but I tell them that they don't want to be caught so need to keep asking the other students questions.

You could maybe incorporate this with the dead/alive envelopes somehow.
