Pyromaniacs Rejoice!

Sorry for the short notice, but tonight is the Fujiyoshida Fire Festival. Not fireworks but goddamn fire.
http://www.city.fujiyoshida.yamanashi.jp/div/english/html/firefest.html

In a nutshell, huge pyres of straw are set on fire and the centre of fujiyoshida burns to celebrate the end of the climbing season.
It has been described as one of the 3 most unique festivals in Japan and it certainly is unique.
If you do go, parking is a bit of a pain but not tooooo bad.

I would suggest wearing old clothes as there is a lot of smoke and ashes floating about.
