"Yennies for Kenny's" Fundraiser
« on: February 13, 2007, 04:54:23 PM »
On February 5th a fire destroyed my mom’s  home, claiming all her belongings and killing both of her dogs. To alleviate the financial burden of having to rebuild her life, I am hosting a fundraiser for her called “Yennies for Kenny’s.”  Proceeds from the coin drive will go directly to Lyn Kenny.  Please join us on:

Date: March 3rd
Time: 6pm-8pm
Place: The Vault, Kofu
Entrance fee: Your spare change!

Scheduled Entertainers:
Kim Pilger
Phil Borgman
Matt Matysik
Jon Smith
Marissa Matthews and Rick

As Yamanashi is ripe with talent, those of you who are musically inclined are invited to perform a 15 to 20 minute set for the event (If you’ve got another talent and want to help out, let me know!) If you are interested in performing or would like more information, please contact me (Courtney) at alt-fzyk@pref.yamanashi.lg.jp

Thank your for the support. See you March 3rd!

This would be the perfect opprotunity to release your new CD (hint, hint)
It's all a matter of timing.

(heh heh heh) I'm planning on it - ALL proceeds from the release will go to the Yennie foe Kenny's fund. I'm planning on keeping it affordable - around 1000yen so there's no excuse not to buy one. After all, it may be worth something one day - hahahaha

They will be signed and hankoed if you wish.

I can even put lipstick on and kiss your copy if that's your thing. :-*

Can you hanko my chest?

On an unrelated note, does anybody have a good protable keyboard?  Or one that they can borrow from their school for the night of the 3rd?  I want to play some ivories for the Yennies, but the portable keyboard I've got now is less than stellar.

Just out of curiosity, any update on how much money we raised?  And how's your mom doing, Courtney?  I hope her insurance is sorting everything out!

I have a total of 94,000 yen in cash :-o That doesn't include all the change- I'm going to cash that today on my lunch hour.  I think there might be about 5 man there!  A grand total will be announced shortly...

My mom is doing good, thanks for asking Rebecca!  She was beyond touched by everyone's support and generosity.  She was actually speechless (for once). Insurance rented a house for her until the other house is rebuilt.  Right now she's going through a lot of tedious paperwork but her spirits seem to be much higher.

If I were you I'd skim the change off the top. I mean, really, we'll never find out and you could treat yourself to that bag you've been looking at.

I'm glad your Mum is ok!

The following is a thank you from my mom.  Please ignore the mom stuff about me in it.

I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful and generous monetary contribution you made to me to help us recover from our loss.  As you know, about a month ago we lost our home, our pets, and most everything we owned in a fire.  Although a devastating event, I am so grateful.  The love and support we have received through this time has been absolutely overwhelming. To think that people who do not even know me would help us so much is such a beautiful gesture.  What
really warms my heart is the fact that you must love my daughter and know how truly special she is to help her mother who none of you have ever met.  I must have done something right in my life to have the honor to call her my daughter. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart  for all you have done for me.

With much appreciation and gratitude,
Lyn Kenny
