« on: March 19, 2009, 03:39:48 PM »

there is a place just past the Heiwa Dori Rout 20 intersection, past the south police station take a right at the gass station go straight past Tsutaya, over the bridge and through an intersection and the shop is on your right.  They even have chocolate gyoza!

I'm in search of this gyoza shop now but forgot to write down instructions for it.  So, I took my computer and roamed around outside of the Kofu station until I jacked a wireless internet signal.  Boo YA!

Gyoza, here I come!

http://r.tabelog.com/yamanashi/A1901/A190101/19000344/dtlmap/

here's the restaurant website

http://www.justmystage.com/home/harijan/harijan/index.html

It's called Korin (scroll down the page for the map! Click on the map and you even get a photo of the place!!)
I think the menu rotates, and they serve Spring Rolls and Gyoza.  I don't see 30 types on their menu, but I DO remember at least 16 types AND the chocolate gyoza.

hours are from 6PM -12PM
Closed Tuesdays
Seatings are at tables at the counter or in private lofts.
there is a place just past the Heiwa Dori Rout 20 intersection, past the south police station take a right at the gas station go straight past Tsutaya, over the bridge and through an intersection and the shop is on your right.  They even have chocolate gyoza!

These directions are pretty dead on. after going over the bridge just drive 400 meters...it's on the right!  The Sign is in English!

The information presented is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge.

This Wednesday, apparently there's a really cool walking over fire/ashes festival at Jessie's school (Nakatomi???) in Minobu, which MJ reckons is one of the best he's ever been to (and he's been here almost 4 years).

...so, me was thinking Golden Week. Tyler & Sarah??
They're closed Tuesdays, and Sunday we're going to JD's, so how about next Wednesday 6th May??

Wednesday 6th sounds good for gyoza action  :-) I'll say to Rachel and Evie. What time? Meet at Kofu Station just outside where you buy tickets?

Kazza do you know when this festival starts? Do you have rough directions to the school? Again, I'll let Rachel and Evie know.

Sorry Shaheen, you're welcome to come, but its a bit of a hike from Kofu station.
Its closer to Jamie's station Kaisumiyoshi 甲斐住吉 on the Minobu line (about 25mins walk) or jump in a cab & share it.

I really hope this is satisfactory!!

There is a very famous gyoza place (steamed and fried) in Harajuku called Gyoza Rou-- I went there last summer..the outdoor eating area was my favorite.
VERY popular.

I'll head there on the design festa date - cheers again Plum - yer a star!

One of my teachers told me about a 'Green' festival on the 3rd of May at Hayakawa Town. She told me that they had barbeques down at the river there. However the only information I've found on it so far is this blog http://tommy.welchwilliams.com/index.php?view=hayakawamatsuri and from that it sounds like it'll be really, really small.

Also, there's a morning festival, more of a flea market really, in Fujimi, Nagano, so if you're up for getting up early to head there it might be worth checking out too. To get there you take the Matsumoto Futsuu train and get off at Fujimi (near Kobuchizawa) which should take 40 minutes. Fare should be about 800 yen. Festival is right nearby the train station I'm told.

No chocolate gyozas, only anko or sweet potato.
The gyoza dishes were about 900 a pop, with about 10-16 bite-sized pieces in each portion.
Yummy food and not only gyoza.
